We focused on the section crossing the Girona province – from Empuries on the Mediterranean Coast to Ripoll, deep into the heart of the Pyrenees. We hiked 150 km in 10 stages, always ending in a town, village or refugio, so we didn’t need to carry any camping or cooking equipment with us. This post focuses on what to see along the GR1.
